One of our favorite family SUVs, the Honda CR-V, has received an extensive mid-cycle refresh and was recently named Motor Trend's 2015 SUV of the Year! Autoblog says its "matured in a spectacular manner" and we couldn't agree more. The new 2015 Honda CR-V in Phoenix now offers a new direct-injected engine with greater fuel economy and torque, a bold styling refresh, added features and an all-new luxurious Touring trim level.
New Exterior Design
A restyled front fascia with a new front grille and optional LED running lights gives the SUV an attractive, sporty new face, while added chrome and new 17- and 18-inch wheel designs add an upscale note to its composition. There's also a new lower fascia with brushed aluminum in back and a new chrome bar below the rear window.
New CR-V Powertrain
Honda CR-V owners in Maricopa County will get 11 percent more torque with the new 2015 model. The direct-injected, Earth Dreams inline four-cylinder produces 185 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque, plus its matched with a new continuously variable transmission that integrates G-design Shift for enhanced fuel economy (28/29 mpg hwy and 33/34 mpg city depending on the selected drivetrain configuration). Another note: Along with its boost in torque, CR-V's updated suspension system also contributes to the SUV's improved driving quality.
New Features & Technologies
Several standard features and safety technologies have been added. There's a new configurable center console and available Display Audio telematics with a 7-inch touch screen on the CR-V EX, for example. This is the first year that the telematics system has been offered on the Honda CR-V in Phoenix, by the way; it includes Bluetooth hands-free phone, SMS text messaging and a Pandora Internet interface. In addition, shoppers can now choose Honda Sensing, a new suite of driver-assist features designed to keep you and your loved ones safe. The suite includes: Lane Keeping System, Collision Mitigation Braking, Honda LaneWatch, Adaptive Cruise Control and other accident-avoidance features.
New High-End Touring Trim
This all-new trim is perfect for those who want a premium experience. It features plush amenities like a power tailgate, HD radio, projector beam headlamps and a navigation system. Plus, it gets several standard passenger-protection systems, including the Lane Keeping Assist and Collision Mitigation Braking systems included in the Honda Sensing Suite.
