The 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid has been honored with a 2014 Motorweek Drivers' Choice Award for Best Eco-Friendly vehicle thanks to its reliability, fuel-efficiency and all-around winning qualities. This marks the 30th time Honda has received a Drivers' Choice Award from MotorWeek since they debuted in 1983.
"For the Accord Hybrid our priority was not only to achieve outstanding fuel-efficiency but also make it fun-to-drive." said Michael Accavitti, senior vice president of auto operations for American Honda. "Being named a Driver's Choice is proof that buying a hybrid doesn't mean you have to give up the joy of driving."
The 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid receives an estimated 50-mpg city and is outfitted with a 2.0L Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine, delivering 141 horsepower, which is supported by two electric motors. The engine is the first of its kind to be used in Honda's lineup and is also known as the world's most efficient internal combustion engine. In addition to its stellar hybrid system, the Accord also earned top safety ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
