With American families spending an average of 208 hours driving over the course of one year, Honda is taking new initiatives to help children utilize their imaginations while on the go. The automaker has launched a new program by the name of Honda Road Readers, a downloadable app that provides Honda owners free access to an array of children's audiobooks that can be played inside the car.
To provide a truly educational in-car experience for families, Honda joined forces with the National Teacher of the Year Program to put together a selection of intellectually stimulating books for Honda Road Readers. Ranging from mystery and science fiction to fantasy and adventures, there's over 100 books in the program aimed at children between the ages of 5 and 16.
Families interested in joining the Honda Road Readers Program can register on the official website, where they will also be directed to the Android or Apple store to download the app. You'll need to input your vehicle identification number (VIN) to finish the signup process, and once it's complete, you'll gain access to five free audiobooks for one year.
"The goal for the Honda Road Readers program is to provide an educational and entertaining alternative to the usual car ride and inspire young listeners to vividly imagine," said Susie Rossick, Assistant Vice President, Honda/Acura Regional Media and Marketing at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "This effort is a powerful demonstration of our commitment to the brand's 'Power of Dreams' philosophy by encouraging our customers and their families to dream big together."
