Honda has unveiled the all-new Civic Hatchback model and it’s a doozy. Premiering at the New York Auto Show, the new hatchback model showcased Honda’s ongoing plan to increase its lineup, especially in regards to already popular nameplates.

“With its sporty lines, Honda Turbo engine technology, hatchback utility and an impressive list of premium features and cutting-edge safety technology, the Civic Hatchback Prototype infuses the Civic lineup with an added layer of five-door versatility, as well as a big dose of European hot hatch styling,” Honda said in a press release.

The new hatchback version of the very popular Civic is a part of its new 10th generation, which is an opportunity for the automaker to not only give the sedan a new makeover, but also expand current offerings.

The Civic hatchback that debuted in New York was just a prototype that Honda will build upon as they work toward a market-ready version of the car. Along with its “sporty lines” and “Turbo engine technology,” the hatch will also offer terrific fuel economy and a comfortable cabin that will rival some of its main competitors.

We don’t know much else about what the final version of the hatchback will look like, but stay tuned to our blog to find out more about this new version of the Civic as more information become available!
