Laugh out Loud at the Phoenix Improv Festival | Honda Events | Phoenix AZ

Improv Festival

The Phoenix Improv Festival is returning to the Herberger Theater, starting April 20, 2017. This comedy spectacular is three straight days of hilarious performances. The festival will feature 26 great acts from around the United States, including several local troupes from the Phoenix area.

Each of these acts are unique with their own brand of comedy. The acts are hand-picked by the festival submission committee that ensures only the best groups are featured. The event will see several dynamic duos, such as a husband and wife team, as well as team of two best friends who met in Improv class. There are also larger groups like, The Cast, that make up characters on the spot and put on a one-night-only improvised play, and, Mail Order Bride, Phoenix’s first and longest running all-female Improv group.

If you are a performer, there are also opportunities to attend workshops during the festival. Many of the acts feature Improv instructors from around the United States, who will help you develop your skills. Classes will take place on Saturday, April 22 at the Arizona Actors Academy and The Torch Theater.

The mission of this festival is to promote theater and the arts in Phoenix. The Phoenix Improv Festival is put on by the non-profit CareFree Write Productions. This organization serves as a network of support for local artists. It provides education and a community for the growing number of artists in the Valley.
