Automobile manufacturer Honda, along with the electronic brand Sony, has recently announced that they are planning on creating a new brand of electric vehicles together. The development and manufacturing will be a joint venture, and right now the two brands are in the process of discussing their partnership. It is expected that this new company will begin within the next year.
The entire Honda / Sony venture will be put together quickly in order to release their first all-electric vehicle by the year 2025. Future plans down the road involve commercializing and providing mobility services. Honda will be the main driving force behind the manufacture of these vehicles, while Sony will be focusing on the mobility aspect. By the year 2040, Honda has plans to only sell battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell models. We'll see a gradual increase in these designs over the coming years. Unfortunately, internal combustion models will soon become a thing of the past.
Honda recently worked with GM to create two all-new electric vehicle models. Sony was not involved, but these 2024 releases show Honda's expertise and innovation. The Honda Prologue will be one of the vehicles. The other will be part of the Acura premium inventory.
At the announcement of this partnership, Sony had a prototype on display for the Vision-S 02 electric crossover as well as the Vision-S 01 electric sedan. Both of the vehicles allowed Sony to try out the waters of the automotive electric vehicle market. For more information, reach out to Bell Honda.
