Specs at a Glance

The 2021 Honda Passport is among today's top SUVs for outdoor lovers. It comes ready to take you and your family on a weekend adventure. Comfort and safety also remain big priorities for the new Passport. Let's take a look at how the Sport trim compares to the Elite trim.

Both trims come equipped with a capable powertrain. Resting under the hood is a strong V6 engine with i-VTEC technology. It's rated to push out a muscular 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission quickly sends power to the wheels. Not only is the Passport one of the quickest models in the segment, but it also packs enough muscle to tow up to a 5,000-pound load. A torque-vectoring AWD system with Intelligent Traction Management is optional. Along with the AWD system comes Mud and Sand driving modes.

Even the entry-level Sport trim will cause heads to turn. Blacked-out exterior accents and 20-inch black alloy wheels help it to demand attention. Rugged fenders enhance the SUV's adventurous design. Full LED headlights and a different set of 20-inch black alloy wheels are featured on the range-topping Passport Elite.

Many people consider the Passport Sport to be a serious bang for the buck. It comes loaded with premium features. A significant upgrade for 2021 is the Sport trim's newly standard Display Audio infotainment system. It brings a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. Other standard features include:

  • Tri-zone automatic climate contro
  • A seven-speaker stereo system
  • A multi-angle rearview camera

Helpful safety technologies, such as automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping, also come with the standard Honda Sensing safety package.

Honda designed the Elite trim to offer an elevated level of luxuriousness. Among its high-end upgrades include heated/ventilated front seats with perforated leather, wireless phone charging, and a hands-free liftgate. To give you an additional degree of awareness on busy roadways, Honda also equips the Passport Elite with a blind-spot monitor.
