2023 Honda CR-V vs. 2023 Honda HR-V

When it comes to well-rounded SUVs, Honda has it figured out. Buyers just have to decide which of the options is the best fit for their needs. Two SUVs that work great in our area are the 2023 CR-V and the 2023 HR-V. Both are capable and well-equipped. The CR-V is larger than the HR-V, but both provide comfortable seating for five. Here are a few ways they are the same and a few things that set them apart.

Performance

Underneath the 2023 Honda HR-V hood is a 2.0L four-cylinder engine that makes 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a continuously variable transmission to provide excellent fuel economy. The 2023 CR-V comes standard with a turbo 1.5L engine that generates 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque. Top trim levels are given a hybrid powertrain capable of making 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque.

Appearance

Both the HR-V and CR-V are given standard 17-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights. Honda adds a chrome exhaust tip and heated side mirrors for the HR-V Sport. Those who choose the CR-V Sport Touring are given things like a hands-free power liftgate and 19-inch gloss black wheels to show off. Both of these SUVs also are available with a sunroof.

Features

The entry-level versions of the CR-V and HR-V have desirable features such as push-button start and LED headlights. Safety features are also included, such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, and lane-keeping assistance. Things like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a 7-inch touchscreen keep drivers connected on the road. On upper trim levels of both options, Honda adds things like wireless device charging and a power-adjustable driver's seat to make life even better on the road.
