What's New for the 2019 Honda Odyssey?

After giving it a refreshed design in 2018, Honda has not made any notable changes for the Odyssey in 2019. What is different in the newest Odyssey, however, is the fact that some features that were once available only as add-on amenities are now standard. This includes an intuitive and comprehensive safety package called Honda Sensing, which has an array of driver assistance and safety features.

The 2019 Odyssey also supports more device charging and playing with the addition of more USB ports. The popular minivan's standard tech-friendly features include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There is also a 10-inch entertainment screen in the rear that keeps backseat passengers occupied on long car trips.

A Blu-Ray DVD player is also available for entertainment. 2019 Odyssey Trims and Innovative Features

There is no shortage of desirable amenities on the 2019 Odyssey, starting with the base LX model. The LX model's standard features include a panoramic rearview camera and a five-inch color display screen for the driver. A hands-free setting is standard on the LX, as is a split-folding third-row set. There are multiple USB ports to plug in and play electronics, and both the driver and front passenger benefit from knee airbags.

The second-highest trim is the EX. The EX adds to the LX standard amenities with a sliding second row of seats, which can be removed or arranged to give the Odyssey a grand total seating capacity of eight. The EX also has LED daytime running lights and a three-zone climate control. The driver's seat moves in 12 ways and provides lumbar support. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard on the EX.

The EX-L, which is a step up, adds a power-operated moonroof and soundproof glass for a quieter ride. This trim level has three USB ports, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and seats with leather trim. An auto-dimming rearview mirror is another convenient standard component.

Next up is the EX-L Navi Res. This trim has the same standard amenities as the EX, plus an integrated navigation system and an entertainment system with a 12-inch display screen. An HDMI interface and voice intercom system, called CabinTalk, are also standard components.

The Touring, which is the next highest trim level, has LED headlights and rain-sensing wipers. It also has a power-operated tailgate and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Topping the line is the Elite. The Elite has heated and cooled front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, ambient LED lighting, a wireless phone charger, and an 11-speaker audio system.

Strong Efficient Performance in the 2019 Odyssey

The same engine powers the 2019 Odyssey as in previous years. The Odyssey still has a 3.5L, V6 engine that generates up to 280 HP and produces a maximum 262 LB-FT of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard on all trim levels except the top two trim levels, which come standard with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The gas mileage for this year's Odyssey is still an estimated 19 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway.

The Honda Sensing safety package, which provides a number of safety features, comes standard on all trims except the base model. It is still available, however, as an add-on feature for the base trim.
