2021 Honda CR-V Exterior

What's New For the 2021 Honda CR-V?

Although the compact crossover SUV segment is one of the most competitive around, the Honda CR-V has always retained its top-dog status due to its all-round approach to fulfilling customer tastes and needs. Efficient, reliable, spacious, and comfortable, the CR-V enters the 2021 model year as a fifth-gen model.

2021 CR-V Trims & Features

A five-seater, the 2021 Honda CR-V, is split into LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring trims. At the base LX trim level, the CR-V combines a four-speaker AM/FM stereo system, Bluetooth wireless technology for hands-free phone calling and audio streaming, a USB port and an auxiliary audio jack for playing media from mobile devices, and a 5-inch color LCD screen for infotainment. Also, standard is remote keyless entry, and active noise cancellation technology keeps the cabin free from annoying noises and vibrations.

The EX trim level welcomes a major boost in comfort and convenience. This model gains features such as front-seat heating, dual-zone automatic climate control, a pair of USB ports in the rear to charge mobile devices, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for smartphone integration, HD Radio, and an upgrade from remote keyless entry to proximity keyless entry. The EX-L approaches luxury territory with gains such as leather seat trim, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power adjustability on the front seats, and two speakers are added to form an eight-speaker setup. The Touring comes with a navigation system, wireless device charging, and nine-speaker stereo as the top-level trim.

2021 Honda CR-V Horsepower

Every Honda CR-V has a 190-horsepower 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine strapped to a continuously variable transmission. Equally fuel-efficient and remarkable on acceleration, this powertrain configuration delivers 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway-provided you stick with the standard front-wheel drive system. (All-wheel drive is optional for better performance on slippery surfaces.) If you choose the hybrid CR-V, it gets a 2.0L four-cylinder combined with two electric motors, rated at 212-horsepower. It receives an estimated 40 mpg in city driving and 35 mpg on the highway.

Honda CR-V Safety

Central to Honda CR-V safety is the Honda Sensing suite to assist drivers in avoiding accidents. Honda Sensing technologies include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, collision mitigation braking, and road departure mitigation. Also present are a multi-angle rearview camera and auto high-beam technology. Six airbags are placed throughout the cabin for deployment if restraint and cushioning are needed during a crash. Go for the EX or higher if you want blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert added.
