What's New For the 2021 Honda Pilot?

The Honda Pilot is a three-row SUV filled with the features today's families need. In 2021, this vehicle gets even better with standard dual-zone automatic climate control and paddle shifters. They all also get an automatic start-stop system to give the vehicle even better efficiency. The six-speed automatic transmission has been eliminated this year. Now, all trims use the nine-speed that used to be reserved for the Touring trim.

Perhaps the most exciting thing happening for the Pilot in 2021 is the introduction of the Special Edition trim. This model comes with nice touches like wireless device charging and 20-inch black wheels. You also get a foot-activated power tailgate for even more convenience.

2021 Pilot Trims & Features

Now that there is the Special Edition, there are a total of seven models of the Pilot. The other options are known as the LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, Elite and Black Edition. Sticking with the entry-level LX offers drivers a 5-inch display, a seven-speaker audio system, automatic LED headlights and 18-inch wheels. All other models after the LX upgrade to an 8-in high-resolution touchscreen display and add even more technology. Highlights include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio and voice commands. As you move up in trim levels, the Honda Pilot offers numerous features and amenities that make for the perfect family vehicle. Additional notable features offered in the newest Pilot include upgraded 20-inch alloy wheels on the SE, available intercom system through Honda's CabinTalk® feature on the top-level Touring and Elite trims, as well as advanced rear-seat entertainment systems.

2021 Honda Pilot Horsepower

Consistent across the 2021 Pilot line is a 3.5L V6 engine, providing a power output of 280-horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The newly standard nine-speed automatic keeps the Pilot moving smoothly. Both the Elite and Black Edition come standard with all-wheel drive. All other models have front-wheel drive with the option of upgrading.
