Honda Plans On Going All Electric

Many auto manufacturers have started to change their lineup to progress towards an all-electric lineup. Honda has recently announced that they are planning to complete their gradual change towards an all-electric vehicle selection by the year 2040. This doesn't include hybrid models. This inventory of vehicles will be completely run by battery or consist of a fuel-cell electric design. While this goal is almost 20 years away, it will take some time to transition from the gas-powered variety. By the year 2030, Honda should have a lineup of about 40 percent electric vehicles.

How Will Honda Transition?

Honda is in the process of developing two battery-powered electric vehicles along with General Motors. These models will utilize the Ultium battery technology. One will be a Honda model, and the other is going to be part of the Acura lineup. Honda also has an electric platform in the works called e.Architecture. These vehicles will go on sale in a few years. Research is being done for the solid-state battery design as well as an all-electric motorcycle.
