The 2019 Honda Insight is an all-new hybrid car that comes in three trims. This mid-size sedan boasts several new safety features, like the Traffic Sign Recognition and Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System. Some of the Honda Sensing driving aides have also been improved. Under the hood, the 2019 Insight retains a gasoline-powered engine block that runs on the traditional i-VTEC mechanism. This compact powertrain kicks out 107 horsepower and approximately 100 pound-feet of peak torque. The legendary i-VTEC technology controls the DOHC valve train of this I-4 engine. An electric motor works with a lithium-ion battery to supplement the output from the gasoline-powered engine. This efficient Honda sedan runs on an electronic continuously variable transmission (ECVT) system, which has the Sport Mode. Additionally, the ECVT has deceleration selectors and a shift-by-wire feature. Several other mechanical installations improve the performance of the all-new Insight model, such as the Eco Assist System. When the engine revolves at high RPM levels, the Active Noise Cancellation silences some of the noise. The Hill Start Assist gives this mid-size sedan a forward push on an inclined surface.
