In honor of Distracted Driving Awareness Month, Honda is initiating a brand-new social media campaign called "Thumbs Up," which aims to inform young drivers about the importance of safe driving through the use of text message emoticons. Honda hopes their campaign will help deter teens from texting while driving and draw attention to the dangers associated with distracted driving.
"Honda's "Thumbs Up" campaign is designed to resonate with a diverse group of younger drivers to raise awareness of the perils of texting while driving," said Jeff Conrad, Honda division senior vice president and general manager. "Honda is deeply concerned about the safety of all of our customers and we remain committed to enhancing the safety for all of those on the road."
To jump start their campaign, Honda has released a series of videos in English and Spanish highlighting the risks of texting while driving. Throughout the month, they will also have images and GIFs displayed on their social media pages with tips on how to stay focused on the road, along with downloadable content, such as wallpapers, for users to utilize. Additional information will be provided on Safety.Honda.com for those interested in learning more about safe driving.
