Following much anticipation, Honda decided to reveal the all-new Clarity Fuel Cell at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. Up until the unveiling, the fuel cell was never mentioned by name and was simply referred to as the FCEV. Unlike other fuel cells entering the market, the Honda Clarity Fuel Cell maintains the brand's signature design and fits nicely into the current lineup.

While we now know what the production version of the Honda Clarity Fuel Cell is going to look like, we still have some time to wait before it arrives in the States. The model isn't set to arrive in the U.S. until next spring, with sales kicking off in California, and eventually, expanding to other parts of the country.

What we know for certain about the model is that it will have an estimated 300-mile driving range and come equipped with a small fuel cell stack placed underneath the hood. The model's lithium-ion batteries will also fit firmly underneath the floorboard, allowing the sedan to seat up to five passengers comfortably. Additionally, when hooked up to an external power feeding system, the Power Exporter 9000, it can act as a source of power in disastrous situations and other unique scenarios.

As we get closer to the Clarity Fuel Cell's arrival, we can expect to discover more information about the new vehicle. If you want to check out other gas-alternative models in Honda's lineup, head over to Bell Honda and we'll show you our full selection.
